Location:
North/Northeast of Big Bear Lake

Difficult
Rating: Difficult. Large boulders and
steep climbs. Lockers and very high ground
clearance required. Not for Stock SUVs.

Features:
Considered the toughest trail in the Big Bear
area. The toughest part is fairly short.
You can hike a short distance for views of Lucerne
Valley. Forrest adventure pass required.

Time
and Distance: Total trip is 6.7 miles.
Difficult portion is 2.2 miles. Allow 2-4 hours
for well equipped vehicles.

To
Get There: From highway 18 east of Big Bear
Lake, follow signs to Big Bear Landfill, heading
northwest from mile post 58. Turn left before
the substation and follow F.S. 3N16 uphill 2.2 miles
to F.S. 3N02 on the right. You can also drive
the Gold Mountain Trail first, then turn left on 3N16
and go .9 miles to 3N02.

Return
Trip: Go east .2 miles on 3N16. Turn
right on larger Holcomb Valley Road 2N09. Bear
left in 2.4 miles when 2N09 becomes Poligue Road.
